National Security Adviser Ajit Doval is scheduled to arrive in Beijing for the 25th round of Special Representatives talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the India-China boundary question.
The meeting forms part of the ongoing mechanism established after the 2020 Galwan clash to manage the Line of Actual Control. Officials described the talks as focused on remaining friction points and confidence-building measures.
The visit comes ahead of a potential trip by Chinese President Xi Jinping to India later in the year. Both sides have maintained regular military and diplomatic channels since the disengagement process at several face-off sites.
Previous rounds produced agreements on patrolling protocols and buffer zones in certain sectors. The current round is expected to review implementation and explore further steps toward complete normalisation of the border situation.
