The National Democratic Alliance is examining a proposal to hold simultaneous elections for 22 states and union territories alongside the 2029 Lok Sabha election. The idea would bring forward elements of the One Nation One Election framework currently scheduled for a later horizon.
Parliamentary panel discussions and internal NDA consultations have placed the decision with the chief ministers of the relevant states. The move would require coordination of electoral rolls, administrative machinery and legal instruments already under consideration.

No final calendar has been announced. The discussion itself indicates that the NDA leadership is testing political and logistical feasibility ahead of the next general election cycle.
