Drishyam 3: The Conclusion collected 21 crore rupees nett in India on Monday, its fourth day, from 16,274 shows at 24.71 percent occupancy. The four-day India nett stands at 197.50 crore. India gross is 237 crore. Overseas gross after a 5 crore Monday is 66 crore. Worldwide gross is 303 crore. The film, directed by Abhishek Pathak and led by Ajay Devgn, opened on Friday, 2 October, the Gandhi Jayanti holiday.
The daily India nett figures that add to 197.50 are 62 crore on Friday at 60.1 percent occupancy, 53.50 crore on Saturday at 48.1 percent, 61 crore on Sunday at 56 percent, and 21 crore on Monday. The Monday drop is the first ordinary weekday in the run. It is also, on the published comparison, the biggest first Monday of Devgn's career, ahead of Singham Again at 18 crore, Shivaay at 17.35 crore, Golmaal Again at 16.04 crore and Singham Returns at 14.73 crore.
How to read a 21 crore Monday
A holiday Friday at 62 crore and a Sunday at 61 crore are opening-weekend numbers. A Monday at 21 crore, with occupancy down from 56 percent to 24.71 percent, is the start of the working week. The film did not hold its weekend rate. It held a Monday that beats Devgn's previous best Monday by 3 crore. Those are different claims. One is about legs. One is about a personal record on a single day.
The show count, 16,274, is the other half of the Monday figure. Twenty-one crore across that many shows is a per-show average a distributor can compare with the weekend, when occupancy was more than twice as high. If the screen count stays near 16,000 and occupancy does not recover on Tuesday, the daily nett will sit closer to Monday than to Sunday. The 197.50 crore four-day total will not be repeated as a daily rate.
Worldwide, and the film it is being set against
Sacnilk's tally, as carried by The Week and Moneycontrol, puts worldwide gross at 303 crore after four days: 237 crore India gross and 66 crore overseas. The Week noted that this already passes the reported lifetime worldwide theatrical gross of the Malayalam original, 237.70 crore, the Mohanlal film that began the series. A four-day Hindi gross passing a full-run Malayalam lifetime is a currency and market comparison, not a like-for-like admission count. It is still the number the trade is using.
The same reports say the four-day worldwide figure has moved past Tiger 3 and past Devgn's own Singham Again. Lifetime ranks are not settled at day four. A film at 303 crore worldwide on a Monday can finish well above that, or it can flatten if the weekday occupancy stays at a quarter of seats. The honest statement on Tuesday morning is the four-day total, not a lifetime estimate.
The franchise arithmetic
Drishyam 3 is the third Hindi film in a series adapted from the Malayalam original. Pathak directs. Devgn leads. The opening date, 2 October, put the first three days on a holiday weekend, which is visible in the Friday and Sunday figures sitting almost level at 62 and 61 crore. Saturday, at 53.50, is the soft day of the weekend, which is the reverse of a non-holiday opening. The Monday at 21 crore is where the holiday effect ends.
Devgn's Monday ladder is now Drishyam 3, Singham Again, Shivaay, Golmaal Again, Singham Returns. The gap from first to fifth on that list is 21 crore to 14.73 crore. The gap from this Monday to this Sunday is 21 to 61. The second gap is the one that decides the second week.
What Tuesday has to confirm
No Tuesday figure is in yet. The test is whether 24.71 percent occupancy was a Monday dip or the new level. A hold near 21 crore nett would put the film through 220 crore India nett by Wednesday night. A fall toward the mid-teens would slow the approach to 200 crore nett, a line it has not crossed: 197.50 is still short of 200. Overseas at 66 crore gross, after a 5 crore Monday, is a smaller and steadier piece of the 303 crore worldwide total.
The verified board on the morning of 7 October is the four-day one. India nett 197.50 crore. India gross 237 crore. Overseas 66 crore. Worldwide 303 crore. Monday 21 crore from 16,274 shows. Occupancy 24.71 percent. Opened 2 October.
