Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3 added about 21 crore rupees net on Monday, taking the Hindi net collection to about 197.5 crore rupees and the worldwide gross to about 303 crore, Aaj Tak reported on Tuesday.
The opening weekend had already done the heavy lifting. Abhishek Pathak's film, the third in the series, collected 62 crore rupees net on Friday, 53.5 crore on Saturday and 61 crore on Sunday, 176.5 crore across three days and 49,950 shows. India gross for the weekend was 211.8 crore. Overseas gross was 61 crore. Footfalls were 69.14 lakh. Monday's 21 crore is a drop from Sunday, which is the ordinary shape of a working day after an opening weekend, and it is still a number that keeps the film inside the top Hindi openings of the year.
The weekend figure was the second-biggest Hindi opening weekend of 2026. Monday does not change that ranking. It tests whether the film holds after the audience that was always going to come has come. A drop from 61 crore on Sunday to 21 crore on Monday is steep in percentage terms and ordinary for a Hindi release that front-loaded its business. The question for the rest of the week is whether Tuesday and Wednesday stay near 15 to 20 crore or fall through 10. The series has a record of holding. The first two films ran for weeks on word of mouth after a solid start. This one has started faster than either, on the weekend numbers, and has more screens to fill.
Devgn plays the same man he played in the first two films, a cable operator whose account of one night the police cannot break. The structure is the franchise. Pathak directs. The overseas gross of 61 crore in three days says the audience is not only domestic. A worldwide figure of 303 crore by Monday night, if Aaj Tak's sum holds, puts the film past the 300 crore mark before the first working week is over. That mark used to be a lifetime target for a Hindi film. For a sequel in this series it is a Monday number.
The screen count is the other half of the weekend. 49,950 shows in three days is a wide release. A wide release that does 176.5 crore net has done the job the distributor bought. A wide release that then does 21 crore on Monday has not yet shown whether the seats stay full when the show count drops, which it will, as smaller films and the next Friday arrival take screens back. Monday's figure should be read against the show count, and Aaj Tak did not publish Monday's shows. The rupee figure is what is available.
None of this is a verdict on the film. It is a verdict on the first four days of tickets. The audience that produces a 62 crore Friday is an audience that decided before the reviews. The audience that produces the second Monday is the one that heard from the first. Tuesday's reports will start to separate those two groups. Until then the ledger is: 176.5 crore net in three days, about 21 crore on Monday, about 197.5 crore net in four, and about 303 crore worldwide.
The comparison that matters inside the industry is with the last two Hindi films that crossed 150 crore net in a weekend, and with the first two Drishyam films, which did not. A sequel that opens at this level has already done the theatrical job the producers sold. The hold from Monday decides whether it becomes a four-week run or a two-week run. Exhibitors will cut shows if Tuesday falls hard. They will protect shows if it stays near Monday's number. That decision lands on Wednesday morning, when the Tuesday figures are in.
Devgn's run of sequels has taught the trade to price the first Monday separately from the weekend. A film with a known title banks the audience that does not need a review. The audience that waits for Sunday night reactions shows up, or does not, on the working days. Aaj Tak's Monday number of about 21 crore is the first reading of that second audience. It is one day. The rest of the week is the sample.
