The Cockroach Janta Party has announced a protest march in Delhi on September 5 over what it describes as the Centre’s failure to honour promises made during the July agitation.
In a statement, the party condemned the Union Government for not withdrawing FIRs against students and protesters and for other unfulfilled commitments related to youth issues. The national working committee met on Monday to review the status of those assurances and decided to keep the option of further agitation open.
Party founder Abhijeet Dipke and spokespersons said the government had given specific undertakings on 25 July that have not been implemented. The September march is intended to press for compliance.
The July agitation had drawn significant attention to student and youth grievances. The subsequent withdrawal of the nationwide protest rested on the understanding that certain legal and policy steps would follow. The CJP now argues those steps have not materialised.
Opposition parties and student groups will watch the scale of the September event. The government has not yet issued a detailed response to the latest announcement.
The development adds a new element to the domestic political calendar as Parliament’s monsoon session remains in procedural limbo and other regional and national issues compete for attention.
