The Vatican will build a €100 million agrivoltaic renewable energy plant at Santa Maria di Galeria.
The project combines solar panels with agriculture so crops can grow under the arrays. Officials presented the plan on August 22 as part of the Holy See’s broader push toward energy independence and lower emissions.
The site already hosts Vatican radio facilities. Construction details and a timeline have not yet been released.
