A seven-storey under-construction building collapsed on Saturday afternoon in Anjaiah Nagar, Kondapur, in Hyderabad.
The structure stood on a 50-square-yard plot next to a drain and tilted toward a neighbouring apartment in Whitefields, causing partial damage. Fire and police teams reached the site and searched for anyone trapped.
Madhapur police opened an investigation. One neighbour was reported injured. No fatalities were confirmed in initial updates.
The collapse triggered panic among nearby residents. Construction activity in the rapidly growing western suburbs of Hyderabad has raised questions about building standards and oversight.
Officials said the search continued into the evening as structural engineers assessed the remaining debris and the affected apartment block.
