The United Arab Emirates said it would pull its remaining forces from Yemen on August 22.
The announcement followed a Saudi-led coalition airstrike on the southern Yemeni port of Mukalla. The UAE has played a major role in the conflict since 2015, supporting southern separatists and conducting ground operations.
Riyadh and Abu Dhabi have differed in recent years over strategy in Yemen. The withdrawal reduces the UAE’s direct military footprint while it continues to back local partners.
