Lollapalooza India locks 23-24 January 2027 at Mahalaxmi Racecourse
The fifth Mumbai edition opens RuPay presale on BookMyShow on 30 August. The bill has not been named. Past years brought Linkin Park, Green Day and Imagine Dragons.

Lollapalooza India will hold its fifth edition at Mumbai's Mahalaxmi Racecourse on 23 and 24 January 2027. Organisers announced the dates on 25 August and opened a ticket timetable before they named a single act.
A limited presale for RuPay credit-card holders starts at 11 a.m. IST on 30 August on BookMyShow. Early-bird general sale follows at 11 a.m. on 2 September. The festival will run four stages and more than 20 hours of live sets across the two days. RuPay Amplified Access, Lolla Comfort and Lolla VIP tiers return with the general ticket.
A lineup that is still a blank page
No headliner has been confirmed for 2027. That is the commercial design. Early-bird tickets in previous years sold hard before the poster dropped. The 2027 calendar copies that pattern.
The names that built the Indian edition are already on the record from 2023 through 2026: Imagine Dragons, The Strokes, Sting, OneRepublic, the Jonas Brothers, Green Day, Shawn Mendes, Louis Tomlinson, Playboi Carti, Linkin Park and YUNGBLUD, next to a growing Indian bill. Those bookings are why a January racecourse date can sell before the 2027 poster exists.
A Live Nation survey of the 2026 crowd found that nearly two in three visitors came from outside Mumbai and that 97 percent said they intended to return. Those two figures are the business case for holding the fifth edition in the same grounds rather than shopping it to another city.
What the racecourse date actually commits
Mahalaxmi in late January is a weather bet that has worked. It is also a logistics bet. The site has to take four stages, a food park, art installations and tens of thousands of people next to a working city racecourse. Neighbour complaints and traffic closures are part of the annual cost. Organisers have not published a capacity cap or a noise plan for 2027.
Ticket prices were not in the first announcement. The only prices that matter on 30 August are the RuPay presale bands on BookMyShow. Those bands will tell regulars whether the fifth edition is being priced as a victory lap or as a squeeze.
The gap the announcement leaves
Asia's large multi-genre festivals now compete for the same winter window and the same flying headliners. Lollapalooza India's advantage is the Mumbai date and the four-year habit of buying early. Its risk is a late poster. If the 2027 bill lands soft after people have already paid, the 97 percent return figure from 2026 will not automatically repeat.
Until the poster is out, the news is the calendar and the card-tied presale. The racecourse is booked. The sale starts in four days. The acts that justify the trip from Pune, Delhi or Bengaluru have not been named.
