Sunday Attacks
Israeli strikes on November 1 killed at least eight Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Medics reported three deaths in an airstrike in Gaza City. The Palestinian interior ministry stated that five police officers were killed in a separate strike in western Khan Younis. The Israeli military said it struck several militants in Khan Younis and did not immediately comment on the Gaza City incident.
Israel has increased the tempo of strikes in recent weeks, citing Hamas rearmament and attacks that violate the year-old ceasefire. Hamas has denied launching attacks or rebuilding its arsenal and accuses Israel of undermining the agreement. Health officials in Gaza report that at least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed in the territory since the ceasefire took effect.
Monday Follow-on Strikes
Further strikes on November 2 killed at least three more people, according to Gaza health officials. Two died and six were wounded in Khan Younis; a third was killed in Al-Mussadar. The Israeli military confirmed two strikes targeting militants. Local reporting also recorded deaths from quadcopter drone fire and additional strikes in central and southern areas, including one that killed a police officer who had been wounded the previous day.
Nearly all of Gaza's more than two million residents live in the remaining third of the enclave among damaged buildings and makeshift tents. Palestinian authorities put the cumulative death toll from the war that began after the October 7, 2023 attacks at more than 74,000.
Ceasefire Status
The October 2025 ceasefire has not stopped periodic Israeli operations against what the military describes as militant targets. Palestinian civil defense and interior ministry statements describe the strikes as violations that have killed police officers and other civil servants on duty. No comprehensive independent verification of individual incident claims is available in real time.
The pattern of strikes continues as both sides accuse the other of failing to meet ceasefire terms. Further operations remain likely while the underlying disagreements over disarmament, reconstruction, and governance in Gaza are unresolved.
