Heavy Rain Alerts Issued Across 25 Indian States for August 25

The India Meteorological Department has issued heavy rain and thunderstorm warnings for 25 states on Tuesday, August 25.
In Jammu and Kashmir, winds up to 75 km/h are expected in districts including Udhampur, Ganderbal, Kupwara and Anantnag. Delhi-NCR may see torrential rain with gusts of 60 km/h in Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram, though some forecasts indicate drier conditions later in the week.
Odisha has ordered school closures in Nabarangpur district and 89 vulnerable schools in Bhadrak. Heavy rain is forecast until August 26 in several coastal and inland districts. West Bengal faces intense rainfall in East Midnapore and South 24 Parganas.
Madhya Pradesh expects isolated very heavy rain in districts such as Dindori, Balaghat and Jabalpur. Bihar, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh also remain under alerts for landslides and road disruptions.
August 25 coincides with Eid-e-Milad holidays in multiple states, adding to school closures. Residents in flood-prone areas have been advised to monitor local updates.
