Prince Harry and Meghan walked through Nottingham on 15 October 2026 and spoke with people outside three local charities. It was their first joint public appearance since they left California and returned to England in August with Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
They arrived at the Community Recording Studio in St Ann's around 10:35 a.m. Crowds of about 50 to 100 people waited with flowers and balloons. Meghan told one woman, “It’s great to be back.” Harry crouched to speak with a child and commented on a bright pink jacket. The studio teaches music, film and performance skills to young people. Harry has supported it for years and announced a £1.1 million donation last year.
The second stop was Himmah Hub, a food poverty group. Meghan met four women who contributed to the 2018 community cookbook “Together” that raised funds after the Grenfell Tower fire. She had given £10,000 from the proceeds to the hub. The couple packed food parcels and joined a cooking session. Their final visit was to Epic Partners, which runs sports and mentoring programmes for disadvantaged young people.
Nottingham was the site of their first joint engagement after they announced their engagement in 2017. One spectator showed them a framed photograph from that day. Meghan wore a burgundy coat and polo neck by Joseph, a Marks & Spencer belt and Jennifer Chamandi shoes. Harry wore a grey suit jacket, open-necked white shirt and jeans.
The visit took place against a backdrop of strained relations with Buckingham Palace. King Charles released a letter last month stating that the couple’s position is akin to private citizens and that they should not be addressed as Royal Highnesses. Harry and Meghan have described themselves as public figures. Meghan last appeared at a public event in the UK at the late Queen’s funeral in 2022.
On the same day, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the ceremonial opening of the Senedd in Cardiff. The Sussexes’ return has drawn both cheers from well-wishers and continued questions about their status within the royal family. No further joint engagements have been announced.
