BJP announces new national office-bearers under president Nitin Nabin
On 17 August 2026 the BJP named 13 national vice-presidents, eight general secretaries and other office-bearers. Piyush Goyal becomes treasurer; Smriti Irani and Ram Madhav return to key roles; Amit Malviya loses the IT cell.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on 17 August 2026 announced its new team of national office-bearers under president Nitin Nabin.
Thirteen leaders were appointed national vice-presidents, including former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, former Uttarakhand chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat, Ram Madhav, Baijayant Jay Panda and D. Purandeshwari.
Eight national general secretaries were named. Smriti Irani returns as a general secretary and has been given charge of Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. Other general secretaries include Biplab Kumar Deb, Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia.
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed national treasurer. B.L. Santhosh continues as National General Secretary (Organisation). Shivprakash and Saudan Singh were named National Joint General Secretaries (Organisation).
Amit Malviya has been relieved of responsibility for the IT cell. The IT cell has been replaced by a social media department headed by Deepak Mhaskey of Chhattisgarh. Tejasvi Surya is no longer Yuva Morcha chief.
Nabin said the new team combines experience and energy and would strengthen the organisation under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to advance the goal of a developed India.
The appointments take effect immediately. The reshuffle is widely viewed as preparation for the 2027 state elections, particularly in Uttar Pradesh.
